Reflective roofing would keep our house cooler in the summer, which would mean that we would use the air conditioner less. Is reflective roofing designed primarily for buildings in sunnier locations than Wisconsin?
All locations can benefit from reduced solar gain.
All locations benefit from reduced solar gain as a result of using reflective roofing. The closer you get to the equator however, the more benefit you derive as a result of a more direct angle of the sun’s rays. On a personal note, I re-roofed my (Wisconsin) home several years ago with reflective roofing and have experienced a cooler home.
