Do you have facts on energy use by county in Wisconsin? I see the Office of Energy Independence has a fact book on energy use for the state, but it would be nice to have more local data .
Not by county, but there is some info by utility.
Unfortunately, we don't have facts on energy usage by county in Wisconsin, nor are we aware of that type of data being available. This is because in one county, you could have a number of utilities that are operating. When utilities report to the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin (PSC) for rate cases or other cases, their numbers are typically for their entire utility territory.
Biennially the PSC prepares a Strategic Energy Assessment to evaluate the state’s current and future energy demands. The final report, based on data and information collected in 2007 and 2008 from Wisconsin utilities and power cooperatives, has some usage data broken down by utility territory, which you may find helpful. Additionally, the U.S Energy Information Administration (EIA) provides state per capita energy use information which might also provide you with some information.
