Thanks for your question! Information collected by the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin suggests the following energy production cost ranges (per megawatt-hour) for various types of generation in Wisconsin*:
• Coal = $30-$80
• Gas combustion turbine = $120-$150
• Gas combined cycle = $70-$100
• Nuclear = $40 (average)
• Wind = $50-$110
• Landfill gas = $70-$100
• Solar = $230-$600
