What kind of water heater should I buy?
Focus on Energy has some recommendations.
Focus on Energy recommends:
- A water heater that uses gas because electric water heaters can be three times as expensive to run
- A water heater with an Energy Factor (EF) of .64 or higher
- A power-vented water heater which are safer than atmospherically vented water heaters.
- Always look for an ENERGY STAR model!
