Does Focus on Energy offer incentives for recycling old appliances?

Unfortunately, Focus on Energy currently does not have an appliance pick up program. Properly recycling is a much better option than giving the old unit to someone to continue to use it.
Major appliances including air conditioners, clothes washers and dryers, dishwashers, refrigerators, freezers, stoves, ovens, dehumidifiers, furnaces, boilers, water heaters and microwave ovens (unless the capacitor has been removed) are banned from landfills in Wisconsin. Some local ordinances require other items to be recycled. You can call your local sanitation department or look in the yellow pages under recycling to see what options are available in your community to properly recycle an old appliance.
