How much does it cost to run a dehumidifier?

This depends on a couple factors.

The cost to run a dehumidifier depends on the size of the unit and the amount of moisture in your home. ENERGY STAR qualified models remove the same amount of moisture as similarly-sized standard units, but use 10 – 20 percent less energy; which can add up to $200 or more over the life of the unit.

Assuming the dehumidifier is used 1,620 hours per year and is a 45 - 54 pint per day unit:
• An ENERGY STAR qualified model would cost $119/year
• A standard model would cost $154/year
