should I turn off the pilot light on my gas fireplace in the summer months to save money? or is it better to just leave it on?
It depends--read on for more info!
If you are able to re-light it on your own, turning it off will save energy and money. How much it will save depends on the size of the pilot light – it will vary. If you have to pay a technician to re-light it, the energy savings will probably not cover the cost of the technician’s service call.
