Is it more efficient to keep the air conditioning on all day (when not at home) or to just turn it on when you arrive back at home?
Use a programmable thermostat and “set back” the temperature.
Set back your thermostat. Your air conditioner will run for a shorter time and use less energy to cool down a hot house than it would if you kept the house cool all day. Just like setting back your furnace, the easiest thing to do is use a programmable thermostat to turn up the temperature when you are away or sleeping. Learn more about how to set your thermostat by visiting the Focus Web site.
