I, probably like many other homeowners, have a problem with the weather stripping on my front door. As the door has aged it has worn down considerably, letting cold air invade my home. I have looked into replacing it, but question the best approach. The door has a custom weather strip at the bottom that is inserted into grooves in the door's bottom edge. I have been unable to find a generic replacement and the door is sufficiently old that I cannot find the manufacturer's replacement. Additionally, it doesn't seem as though it was designed to be replaced (it appears to be glued into the grooves in the door. I am up for cutting it off if I knew that I had a feasible replacement. The door is made of wood and glass and clad in steel. Any suggestions?
