I'm the maintenance supervisor for an industrial facility. If my staff performs boiler tune-ups and steam trap replacements on our own equipment, are we still eligible for Focus tune-up incentives?
Direct expenses could be covered, but not internal labor.
Focus on Energy requires third-party invoices for all projects performed in commercial and industrial businesses. Unfortunately, since you can't provide a third-party invoice for internal labor, Focus cannot pay incentives for that portion of your project expense. However, if you provide invoices for other direct expenses incurred, such as new steam traps, steam trap repair kits, gaskets, and other related items such as cleaning supplies (do not include expenses such as lunch and gas for the truck), those may be counted as your project cost and you could receive incentives from Focus.
On a related note, part of Focus on Energy's mission is to promote and enhance a base of market providers (contractors) capable of performing energy efficiency services in Wisconsin. We encourage businesses across the state to take advantage of these market providers’ energy efficiency expertise. You can even find a comprehensive list of market providers that regularly work with Focus on our Web site.
