I am looking to upgrade my furnace from oil to either gas or wood pellets, however, I am wondering if there are any incentives out there for me to accomplish this?

Yes, there are Focus and Federal incentives to help.

There are both Focus on Energy Cash-Back Rewards and Federal Tax Credits for a qualified gas furnace and Federal Tax Credits for a qualified wood-pellet stove. I would suggest visiting the ENERGY STAR (R) Web site or the Tax Incentives Assistant Project Web site to learn more about tax credits. These Web sites have information that consumers and businesses need to make use of the federal income tax incentives for energy efficient products and technologies.

There may also be some savings in operation cost with your new furnace. The Department of Energy has a Fuel Cost Calculator on their Web site that can show the operating cost for different fuel types and equipment. Check with your oil, wood pellet and natural gas provider for pricing. In most cases you can save 40 to 60 percent by converting from oil to natural gas, slightly less for converting to wood pellets.

Please visit focusonenergy.com/incentives for the latest incentives and requirements, as Focus offers are subject to change.
