I have a 40 yr old ranch and I am considering on replacing the aluminum siding..I would have it sealed with tyvac[sp] and have insulated vinyl siding installed. Would this qualify for any tax incentives? Thank you.

Here are some Web sites you can visit for more info.

Tyvek® would not qualify for any federal energy tax credits (it is not insulation), but it is possible that the insulation associated with vinyl siding would qualify. Check with your siding contractor to determine if their product qualifies for the federal tax credits.

To learn the details regarding federal tax credits, I would suggest visiting the ENERGY STAR (R) Web site or the Tax Incentives Assistant Project Web site. These Web sites have information that consumers and businesses need to make use of the federal income tax incentives for energy efficient products and technologies.
