I'm buying a home with my mom as co-owner (to get a better loan interest rate). I and my 4 kids will be the occupants. My mom has her own home. I meet the financial guidelines for assistance-can I get help with energy improvements?
Assistance programs are available!
If your income is below 60 percent of the state median income (SMI), you qualify for the Wisconsin Home Energy Assistance Program. Find out more on their Web site or by calling 1-866-HEATWIS.
If your income is between 60 and 80 percent of the SMI and you meet other eligibility requirements, you may qualify to participate in the Targeted Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® Program. This program assists qualifying Wisconsin residents in making energy-efficiency improvements to their homes. The improvements are completed by program consultants at minimal costs to the homeowner and will make your home more comfortable, safe, and energy efficient.
